Your opportunity
The Principal, Platform Engineering role will focus on Release & Environment is responsible for overseeing the release management lifecycle across multiple technology domains, ensuring that software and infrastructure changes are delivered smoothly, securely, and efficiently. This role also owns the provisioning, maintenance, and governance of non-production and production environments, ensuring consistency, compliance, and readiness for deployment.
Release Management:
- Define and implement release management strategies and policies across Agile and Waterfall projects.
- Coordinate and manage all release activities, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Act as gatekeeper for production environments, ensuring all releases meet quality and compliance standards. Oversee release orchestration with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Harness
- Develop and maintain forward release schedules and calendars.
- Lead release readiness reviews, deployment rehearsals, and post-release validations.
- Automate release processes and configuration updates to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
Environment Management:
- Own the provisioning, access, and lifecycle of development, test, staging, and production environments.
- Govern SDLC lifecycle across Dev (DV), UAT (AC), Pre-Prod (TS), and Production (PD) environments.
- Provision, refresh, and manage environments with Delphix (virtualization, masking, test data management.).
- Coordinate environment usage, conflict resolution, and stability assurance.
- Experience with ITSM tools – ServiceNow (Incident, Change, Release, Problem) management.
- Ensure environments are clean, consistent, and compliant with security and data protection standards (e.g., data obfuscation).
- Create environment roadmaps aligned with project and business needs.
- Coordinate environment refreshes and planned outages with stakeholders.
- Maintain environment documentation and enforce environment standards.
Collaboration & Governance:
- Work closely with Product Managers, Project Managers, Test Leads, and Architecture teams.
- Liaise with Change Managers, PMO, and the Change Advisory Board to align release and environment activities.
- Communicate release and environment management objectives across IT and business domains. Ensure alignment with ITIL best practices and internal governance policies.

Must have skills
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Extensive experience in cloud computing, including management, development, and deployment of cloud solutions. Experience as Product Owner or similar roles.
- Experience with cloud adoption at scale (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP exposure beneficial).
- Knowledge of financial services regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder, vendor, and executive communication skills
- Proven leadership and management experience, preferably in setting up or running a COE.
- Strong knowledge of major cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in product management or ownership, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality products.
Nice to have skills
- Certifications in cloud architecture (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, etc.) and Agile methodologies (CSPO, PSPO, etc.).
- Experience in financial management and cost optimization in a cloud context.
- Familiarity with IT security, compliance, and risk management.
