Your opportunity
This newly created role will provide business management support to the Investment Trust business and be responsible for business operations and project management, process improvement, product governance/implementation and market analysis.
This role will ensure that our investment trust business operates efficiently, meets regulatory requirements, and contributes to our growth activities.
Business Operations & Project Management
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the day-to-day operations of the investment trust business, with a view to identifying opportunities for process improvement and team efficiencies.
- Lead projects related to product launches, mergers, restructures, and business development initiatives; ensure project set-up and foster commercial awareness across the team.
- Develop broad knowledge of JHI business operations and build relationships with key internal stakeholders.
Strategic Planning
- Contribute to the development and implementation of business strategies to grow assets under management and enhance shareholder value.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions.
Regulatory, Compliance & Governance
- Lead implementation of Consumer Duty requirements, ensuring alignment with FCA expectations.
- Take ownership of input to product governance for investment trusts, such as the annual value assessment.
- Provide guidance on ad hoc legal and regulatory matters relevant to the business, working with the investment trusts’ advisers where required.
Other Duties
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned to support the ongoing success and compliance of the investment trust.

Must have skills
- Significant experience in asset and investment management, ideally in a business management or support role with exposure to investment trusts, funds, or similar structures
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of financial markets, regulations, and investment products
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills, with a proactive attitude and proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet tight deadlines
- Effective collaborator and team player, capable of engaging senior management and cross-functional teams, with demonstrated project management expertise.
Nice to have skills
- Background in product governance / product implementation and knowledge / corporate finance
- Knowledge of the investment trust sector
- Knowledge of the FCA’s Consumer Duty principles
