Your opportunity

 

The Data Operations (DO) department is a part of Trade Operations and plays a vital role in supporting the business's success. We are tasked with setting up various types of instrument vehicles for the desk (PMs, Traders) and are also responsible for maintaining the data quality of our securities universe. Additionally, we support various stakeholders, including Client Reporting, Dealers, Fund Managers, Risk, Compliance, Performance Teams, and Complex Securities, among others.

 

You have the responsibility of executing numerous tasks related to the upkeep of all investment reference data, including Security Setup & Maintenance, Fund Setup & Benchmarks Maintenance, Ratings, Indices, and more, across various systems. This encompasses a wide range of investment products, aiming to deliver precise, timely data that supports analytics, risk management, trading, finance, compliance, marketing, and client reporting. Your duties also involve creating and examining reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to verify their accuracy, ensure compliance, and maintain control.

 

You will: 

 

  • Maintain the accuracy and compliance of investment reference data through data cleansing, auditing, and validation activities.
  • Ensure all Investment reference data elements are opened, closed, and updated both timely and accurately.
  • Set improvement targets, qualify, and quantify the results of data quality efforts.
  • Conduct root-cause investigations for issues related to master data within systems and suggest or implement solutions.
  • Recommend ways to strengthen data integrity, quality, and availability across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with IT, data stewards, and internal business units to establish transparent, efficient, and effective processes for utilizing master data within systems.
  • Partner with IT personnel and data stewards to identify data irregularities by employing data profiling tools.
  • Keep abreast of the functionalities of master data tools, understand the flow of data through downstream systems, and grasp the rules governing data lineage.
  • Support the creation and ongoing refinement of operational policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed about the needs and business processes of all internal stakeholders.
  • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly quality dashboards that show state of data errors and exceptions as well as progress toward specific data quality targets.
  • Assist in the design, development, testing, and implementation of new processes and/or system enhancements to ensure that the design meets business requirements while improving department efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Must have skills

 

  • Experienced in data operations/Reference data approaches, quality practices in large financial organization(s).
  • Knowledge of Market Data Vendor such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Markit EDM, Sedol Web.
  • Knowledge of various instrument products such as Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives.
  • Five-year experience within the financial services industry specifically focused on security reference data.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Critical Thinking, Adaptability
  • Strong analytical mindset, Attention to Detail
  • Enjoys problem solving.
  • Proactive in establishing processes and the best ways of working.
