Your opportunity

 

Remaining resilient in the face of operational events is critical for Janus Henderson Group plc (“JHG”) to meet its commitments to put clients first and deliver excellent service. Continuity and resilience capabilities and strategies must be in place ad rehearsed to enable continued delivery of the services that matter the most in the event of operational disruption. In this role you will be the Senior Manager responsible for running the Business Resilience Team day-to-day, reporting into the Global Head of TPA Governance & Business Resilience. You will work in partnership with the Global Head of TPA Governance & Business Resilience, taking a key role in supporting the ongoing evolution of the Business Resilience Framework to meet current priorities and ensure that, where possible, our staff, clients and other stakeholders are protected from disruption.

 

You will:

  • Maintain, manage and support the development of the Janus Henderson Group (“JHG”) Operational Resilience framework (including frameworks and processes supporting JHG Crisis Management, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery).
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders across Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk and Investments supporting the ongoing resilience of our business.
  • Build and maintain a strong knowledge and understanding of the JHG technology infrastructure.
  • In partnership with the Business Resilience team, maintain knowledge of relevant global regulatory requirements and in partnership with business colleagues, Risk and Compliance maintain and/or support implementation of appropriate policies, systems, processes and controls to enable the firm to demonstrate compliance.
  • Maintain connectivity with industry peers and awareness of industry developments providing internal ‘thought leadership’ on relevant issues.
  • In conjunction with the team leader manage the global Business Resilience programme including, including but not limited to:
    • Chairing and coordinating the Business Resilience Forum (“BRF”);
    • Develop and maintain appropriate governance and reporting structures.
    • Supporting appropriate rehearsal of Crisis Management plans and capabilities.
    • Evolving and overseeing delivery of appropriate operational resilience training for the Crisis Management Team, Resource Pillar owners, Critical/Important services owners and for employees more broadly
    • Coordinating Business Continuity planning and testing, including supporting business stakeholders with business impact assessments and related continuity planning, to ensure plans are current and well understood; and
    • Supporting the Business Resilience team in creating reporting to relevant business committees/Boards and fund Boards
  • Support client interactions as required e.g., client due diligence requests / meetings
  • Provide input to broader incident management related matters, i.e. those matters that require response to an event or incident that would not require invocation of Disaster Recovery, but which have business continuity implications

Must have skills

 

  • Educated to degree level or holding a relevant professional qualification
  • Excellent relationship building and influencing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated team player
  • People management experience
  • Track record of managing through material operating disruptions
  • Understanding of Information Technology to an extent that is sufficient to be able to engage effectively with IT experts in relation to Business Continuity matters and be able to have a well-informed opinion of IT proposals
  • Financial services Operational Resilience experience, ideally in the Asset Management sector
  • Delivery focused, detail oriented, structured and organised approach with the ability to multi-task with the ability to work well in a deadline driven environment
  • Adaptable with ability to propose change and take on new challenges
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint

 

Nice to have skills

 

  • Good understanding of Recovery & Resolution Plans (RRP), Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), IT Continuity and Audit methodology concepts
  • Good understanding of risk management methodologies and techniques preferred
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements on Operational Resilience (e.g., European DORA, FCA’s Important Business Services on resilience and risk)
