Your opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Business Architecture, the Associate Business Architect will support efforts to establish and maintain a consistent reference model of our business with stakeholders across the firm such that we can clearly map our operating model (business process, people/organization, technology, data, services and governance).
The role will be to support the Head of Business Architecture with tasks relating to the management of data relating to the firm’s business architecture framework, and the way in which business architecture is applied on change initiatives across the firm.
Ongoing activities might include:
- Maintaining current state assessments using the business architecture framework;
- Performing a supporting role in projects and other change initiatives where the application of business architecture forms a necessary part of the scope;
- Performing analysis to support the identification of organisation improvement using business architecture frameworks, methodologies and techniques;
- Documenting current and target state processes accurately and to the level of detail required;
- Supporting the preparation of materials and delivery of workshops to document current and target state process maps;
- Canvassing stakeholder views/opinions from a broad range of internal teams, including operations, sales, client account management, investments, financial crime compliance and legal;
- Identifying trends and insights from data relating to the firm's business architecture;
- Providing support to the rest of the team and firm in designing target operating models and associated implementation roadmaps, ensuring they are aligned to strategy and key business objectives;
- Performing analysis to support the identification of common cross-organisational needs and capture synergies
- Creating and amendment of team management artefacts, including team procedures; controls; internal reporting templates and processes; terms of reference; toolsets; record management;
- Performing document management - maintaining operating model documentation in a well-structured channel in architecture tools and document stores as required;
- Carrying out other duties as assigned.

Must have skills
- Some Experience of documenting operating models – either in a business architecture role or as a business analyst/equivalent
- Good analytical skills and knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Understanding of how business and enterprise architecture toolsets operate
- Good communication and presentation skills - ability to clearly communicate verbally or non-verbally with colleagues
- Strong team ethic - ability to work with others to achieve a common goal
- Problem-solving - being able to identify and analyze a problem and creatively pose a solution
- Wanting to stay curious, ask questions and learn new skills
- Good organisation skills - time management, estimating, planning
- Positive attitude - being calm under stress, learning from mistakes and building relationships
- Strong work ethic - having discipline, integrity, professionalism, and punctuality
- Ability to effectively prioritise and juggle those priorities as required
Nice to have skills
- Aligned Project Certification beneficial
- Experience with Microsoft Visio and/or other process capture tools
- Background in financial services (ideally asset management)
