Your opportunity

 

  • Lead a small but critical client-facing team as player and coach of Investor Service professionals responsible for supporting and growing Janus Henderson’s US Direct Business Channel through both inbound and proactive outbound investment advice-related efforts
  • Carry out and develop policies and procedures consistent with department and corporate strategies to ensure an efficient and excellent client service experience with tailored investment advice. Establish goals and decide on courses of action to achieve these goals
  • Deliver industry-leading and differentiated consultative service to investors by means of tailored advice solutions factoring in their individual objectives, time horizons, tax exposure, risk tolerance and other relevant factors
  • Plan and monitor work activities to ensure that all functions are performed on a timely basis while also meeting established quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Establish, review, and amend internal work standards
  • Develop and coordinate departmental budget and staffing plans to ensure cost effective operations
  • Ability to champion department-level strategic initiatives
  • Build and maintain a positive working relationship with peers from other internal departments. Work with said departments and other stakeholders to identify problems and present solutions
  • Manage all phases of assigned projects for the US Direct Business Channel team, including but not limited to, ongoing outbound calls of team to clients in pursuit of redemption mitigation and JHI wallet-share expansion
  • Prepare various department reports and presentations as requested
  • Organize and provide digestible feedback to senior management to ensure shareholder-driven feedback loops result in constant evolution and optimization of service offering
  • Deliver against individual and team KPIs as established from time to time
  • Handle escalated complaints from investors to ensure complete satisfaction, and proper documentation pursuant to internal policy and established regulatory requirements
  • Provide staffing manager with relevant information and foresight on volume projections to ensure coverage and optimal shareholder experience and journey
  • Assist with annual custody audit in league with TA management and staff
  • Serve as liaison with vendor partner, SS&C, on myriad existing system activity and development projects
  • Carry out other duties as assigned

Must have skills

 

  • Certification as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) strongly preferred
  • Five years mutual funds/financial services experience or equivalent required
  • FINRA SIE, Series 6 (or 7,) 63 and 65 (or 66) licensed upon hire or within 90-days
  • FINRA Series 26 (or 24) (Principal) license must be obtained within 6 months
  • Demonstrated experience in mutual funds or financial services industry and knowledge of company investment products
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of negotiability requirements regarding shareholder transactions including transfers, redemptions, purchases and exchanges
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to prioritize decisions in a fast-moving environment
  • Creative problem resolution skills with an ability to balance risk and the client experience
  • Ability to carefully follow and deliver against all Compliance and Legal guidance regarding JHI’s role, responsibilities and confidentiality relating to the dispensing of shareholder advice and overall investor stewardship
  • Capability to take ownership of complex situations that result in positive outcomes for clients
  • Experience in a team environment that fosters culture of peer-to-peer coaching, collaboration, and recognition
  • Demonstrated teaching and mentoring skills in furtherance of staff development and career pathing      
  • Proven ability to succeed in high-volume setting, ideally including outbound call center or external financial product selling experience

 

Nice to have skills

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Four (or more) years direct supervisory or management experience strongly preferred
  • Effective presentation and group facilitation skills preferred

Compensation information

 

The base salary range for this position is $180,000 - $200,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. This posting will be available through October 30, 2025.

Annual Bonus Opportunity:  Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool.  The profit pool is funded based on Company profits.  Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
