Your opportunuity

 

We are seeking a Junior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our distribution analytics team. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to grow their technical skills while supporting the creation and maintenance of our data and reporting solutions four our business partners. This individual will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and product owners to deliver scalable, secure, and insightful BI solutions using Power BI, Tableau, and other modern BI tools.

 

  • Collaborate with product owners, analysts, engineers, and business users to understand reporting requirements and translate them into a self-service reporting layer optimized for usability and performance.
  • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, and other BI tools.
  • Support data modeling efforts to ensure accurate and efficient data representation in reports.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure data models and pipelines support reporting needs, while learning to manage BI environments, including workspaces, deployment pipelines, and best practices.
  • Write and troubleshoot SQL queries to extract, transform, and assist with validating data accuracy to ensure reliable BI outputs.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives, supporting iterative delivery towards the team’s commitments.
  • Document report logic, data sources, and user guides to support adoption, maintenance, and the ability to self-service.
  • Stay current with BI trends and best practices to continuously improve reporting capabilities and reduce BAU.

 

Must have skills

 

  • Hands-on experience with Power BI or similar BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker).
  • Strong SQL skills for querying and transforming data to create performant reports and measures.
  • Basic understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g., dimensional, entity, relational).
  • Familiarity with data engineering tools and technologies like SQL server, Excel, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Github, Snowflake, Databricks, Apache Airflow, AutoSys, etc.
  • Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into technical solutions with some guidance.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Exposure to DAX and Power Query (M language) in Power BI.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

 

Nice to have skills

 

  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure, Snowflake, Databricks
  • Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
  • Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience in the Financial or Technology sectors.

Compensation information

 

The base salary range for this position is $60,000-$75,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.  this role will remain open through the end of September 2025.

Annual Bonus Opportunity:  Position is eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus award from the profit pool.  The profit pool is funded based on Company profits.  Individual bonuses are determined based on Company, department, team and individual performance.
