Your opportunity
This job in one sentence is to produce the most business value with the resources JHI allocates to the Investment Data Product area. It is an exciting and dynamic role where you will perform the following responsibilities
- Act as the Product Owner for one or more matrix teams that may include a mix of developers, system integrators, analysts, and architects across the globe
- Proactively collaborate with investment stakeholders (Analysts, PM’s, Traders, and other business sponsors, project manager, SMEs, product teams, and Technology departments) to ensure goals are clear and aligned to business objectives. Providing on the ground US time zones support to stakeholders, primarily in the Denver office.
- Manage, lead, and coach a team of direct reports and virtual team resources to deliver the data features required for this product area.
- Plan, prioritize, and maintain a healthy product backlog that delivers maximum value for the investors and aligns with the company’s strategic priorities
- Translate or oversee the translation of business and technical/non-functional requirements into clear user stories for your team(s) to implement
- Facilitate planning and backlog refinement activities (Quarterly Planning, Sprint Planning) in partnership with business stakeholders, SMEs, and other product team(s)
- Communicate with stakeholders so they understand when key features will be delivered
- Communicate product features and functionality with clarity
- Collaborate with stakeholders regarding the correction (or not) of defects
- Participate in scrum ceremonies, evaluate project/product progress, and communicate status & risks appropriately
- For Enterprise projects, collaborate with Project Management colleagues to ensure resourcing is allocated to support delivery of prioritized projects and that accurate and robust delivery plans are developed
- For Enterprise projects, collaborate with Business Readiness colleagues to ensure core readiness activities are delivered in line with our readiness framework (e.g., develop and implement training and communications that allow stakeholders to better understand the products and associated changes, ensure production readiness criteria is met)
- Serve as Level 2 or 3 support for issues that arise in your product area
- Ensure product assets are documented in Janus Henderson’s Configuration Management Database (CMDB)
- Maintain an understanding of the broader systems, data, and process architecture into which your product fits, and contribute to efforts to streamline and enhance architecture where appropriate
- Establish and monitor KPI measures to assess and communicate the success and challenges for your product
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Must have skills:
- Strong Investment Data Domain Expertise Proven understanding of portfolio management, risk, and performance data and how these datasets are used by investment teams. The role is accountable for defining and managing investment data models aligned to these functions.
- Stakeholder Partnership with Investments Demonstrated ability to partner directly with investment domain stakeholders (PMs, Risk, Performance, Ops) to translate analytical and operational needs into clear data requirements and priorities.
- Ownership of Outcomes Clear accountability for high‑quality, governed investment data, including working with engineering, stewards, architecture, and multiple delivery partners to support decision‑making and regulatory/compliance needs.
- Strong experience in data analysis and data warehousing in an investment management data domain.
- Proficient in delivering value using Agile methodology and leading agile ceremonies.
- Strong capability writing SQL scripts for analysis of data warehouses or other data implementations in any of the following database platforms: Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Databricks Delta Lake, Snowflake.
- Experience with data visualization or reporting tool such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI Tool, for the purposes of monitoring data quality or performing data reconciliation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Initiative and the ability to progress projects with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication and time management skills.
- Management experience leading teams.
- A team player with a client-first mindset.
Nice to have skills
- Hands‑On Aladdin Experience Prior experience working with Aladdin as a source system or data platform (positions, trades, benchmarks, performance) accelerates effectiveness but is not strictly required.
- Strong Technical Data Modeling & Translation Skills. Ability to bridge business concepts → logical data models → governed enterprise datasets, collaborating effectively with business people, architects, and engineers with hands‑on technical knowledge using cloud data tools like snowflake.
- Experience Operating in a Federated Data Model Familiarity with domain‑aligned ownership, stewardship models, and working across architecture, engineering, and governance forums in a federated setup.

Compensation information
The base salary range for this position is $140,000-$150,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. This position will be open through June 30, 2026.
